ABOUT US
My name is Barbara Ruth Smith I live in the Pacific Northwest in the State of Washington on a quiet little island where I live on 16 acres. I got my first whippet in the mid 1970s. His name was Sporting Fields Real McCoy and was the litter brother to the famous Ch. Sporting Fields Clansman. "Blippet" was a wonderful introduction into the breed. Since then I have maintained a household of several whippets most living to the ripe old age of about 18 years old or so. I have been well represented by my whippets in both show ring and field with many confirmation and field champions over the years.
There are many kind and knowledgeable people who have helped me on my way. One who I consider to be the most important to my life in whippets was Patrick Pettit of Patric's whippets. Without Patrick I know I would never have come this far. He taught me how to develop my eye to recognize balance and type and he also left me, as his legacy, much of his bloodline which he developed over his many years as a successful breeder.
When giving credit where credit is due I would like to thank the following people for their influence and help in creating the Blueskies breeding program.
