Fun Fair

A group of children planned a trip to a funfair. They had the choice between Euro-Disney and Alton Towers.

They decided that it would be less expensive and easier to get to Alton Towers along the motorway.

When they got there, they were given a map of the theme park.

This map shows the rides they decided to go on:

Cathy wanted to go on the Black Hole and Toyland Tours. She started and finished at the gate.

Her route along the paths was:

gate - Nemesis - Black Hole - Haunted House - Toyland Tours - Pirate Ship - gate

Find changes to 2 parts of Cathy's route to make it shorter.

Archie and Nicky are standing at different places somewhere inside the theme park. They are not on a path or a ride.

Archie can see the Pirate Ship on the right of the Haunted House. He can see Nemesis on the left of the Haunted House. Print out the map and mark an A where Archie could be.

Ruth is at the gate. She can see the Black Hole. Nicky can see the Black Hole from the other side and the Haunted House between the Black Hole and Nemesis. Put an N somewhere on your copy of the map where Nicky could be.
