Takashi Sawano has designed and created Japanese gardens for over twenty-five
years, both in this country and abroad.
He has recently completed gardens for the City of Ostend in Belgium and the University of Cambridge's Pembroke College, as well as a number
of smaller private gardens. He also created a Japanese garden at Lauriston
Castle for the City of Edinburgh which opened in 2002.
Takashi Sawano creates for each of his clients a garden suited to its environment,
an extension of nature blended in with the local conditions rather than
a piece of "Old Japan" transposed on to foreign soil.
Having made his home in England twenty-five years ago, he has absorbed
the culture of the west into his rich oriental background which he sets
out to share with clients.

Design and fees
Before creating a Japanese Garden, you may want to see an outlook of your
ideal garden. We offer a rough design for a fee of £100 plus VAT.
In the first instance, if your garden is located in or near London, we
would like to visit it before the rough design is undertaken ( travelling
costs would be added ). This is the best way to start. However, if your
garden is located some way from London, and you would prefer to send photographs/images,
this would be perfectly acceptable. We need approximately 10 photographs
or digital images ( jpeg files ). If you are then interested in our rough
design, we then discuss going further with an estimation of costs and so
on.
