NEW
PRACTICAL ELECTRICAL ENERGY STORAGE
ALTERNATVE ENERGY STORAGE
Energy
storage battery for solar, wind and UPS applications
A different concept by TRL, Inc., a
pioneer R&D Company of Redox type batteries.

The
TRL-CIR (Common Ion Redox)
Please
see our abbreviated Background page
that should identify TRL in terms of our previous R&D projects and
accomplishments.
Recent
developments have brought us to an advanced version of Redox systems that
avoids all the problems that beset operation and limit the lives of other
batteries. The CIR system will operate
unattended for an indefinite numbers of cycles.
Electrolytes and reagents are simple compounds and complexes of inorganic
salts.
The attributes that have motivated
this very recent development are its very low cost and long term
reliability. The TRL-CIR is extremely
rugged, and provides considerably more reliability at much lower cost than
mechanical storage devices such as flywheels and compressed gas, and it has
much longer life than any of the conventional electrochemical batteries.

Technology
application focus is bulk energy storage where long life, reliability and low
cost are of paramount importance. At the
present time, stand-alone and remote wind and solar generation is not
economical because of the absence of a practical storage system. Consequently,
wind power and solar power generators are tied to utility power grids.. Our new CIR System would be especially valuable in making
practical renewable, non-fossil fuel, power generation sources such as wind and
solar.
TRL is
offering prototype, static electrolyte single cells and batteries for sale to
those interested in exploring their behavior and application
possibilities. For more detailed
