Who are we?

TIA-OK is the Oklahoma City chapter of The Interfaith Alliance, a national organization built by people of faith from all religions and denominations who believe the radical religious right is not the majority voice of the spiritual community in America. The Interfaith Alliance is concerned with keeping our country safe and strong for all people of good will.

What is our mission?

The Interfaith Alliance is a nonpartisan, interfaith organization committed to three main goals:

  1. Promoting the positive role of religion as a healing and constructive force in public life.
  2. Encouraging the renewal of values within our families and communities.
  3. Providing people of faith with an alternative voice to that of the radical religious right.

The Interfaith Alliance believes that religion best contributes to public life when it works for reconcilliation, inspires common effort, promotes concern for the less fortunate, and upholds the dignity of all human beings. Because we affirm both the plurality of religious voices and the strength that diversity brings to our nation, we publicly challenge any candidate or political organization that explicitly claims to speak for all people of faith. We encourage active participation in the political process by people of faith and all people of good will, and insist that truthfulness, civility and compassion should always characterize our words and deeds.
