Lysandra Papillons & Chihuahuas

The papillon is a beautiful breed of toy dog also known as butterfly dogs because the large ears and head markings are said to resemble a butterfly.

They are an intelligent breed, indeed papillons are often used for obedience and agility as well as making good PAT dogs. They are also increasingly being used as hearing dogs for the deaf and helping dogs for the disabled.

Our smooth coat chihuahuas (the smallest breed of dog) are lap dogs, as they should be. Papillons however should not be mistaken for lap dogs. Ours are all dog and much prefer to snuggle up on shoulders.
