PARTIAL LISTING OF CARLISLE STUDENTS
This listing is adapted from Charles Maclay's index of "The Indian Industrial School" by Linda Witmer. The original list was alphabetical by surname. I have re-formated it and listed the students by tribal affiliation. It is not complete; however, it is extensive. Some students may have been listed with an incorrect or missing tribal affiliation. There is a separate listing for students whose tribal affiliation is not known and all lists are alphabetical within the individual tribal lists. Where surnames are compound names or a girl appears to have been married (or have two "surnames") the names are cross-referenced for the duplicate or various possibilities. Students who had only one name are listed at the beginning of each tribal listing. It is best to explore all possibilities before assuming someone is not listed.
