Sally Wildman
LAW OFFICES OF SALLY WILDMAN SALLY WILDMAN, a member of the American Academy of Adoption Attorneys, has represented adopting parents since 1985. Currently, Ms. Wildman represents adoptive parents in all types of adoption, and she represents adult adoptees in birth parent search. During Spring and Fall season, she offers classes on the adoption process through adult education programs. See Ms. Wildman's latest newsletter for a schedule of adoption process classes. To promote study of current adoption policies and practices. Ms. Wildman created the Chicago Adoption Dialogue Forum. The first program, held in March 2001, co-sponsored with Loyola University School of Law, Child Law Center, Chicago, Illinois brought together faculty from area universities. The second program, held in March 2002, co-sponsored with Midwest Adoption Network, addressed adoptee issues and highlighted current approaches to searching, such as the expanded Illinois Adoption Registry. As chair of the American Bar Association Adoption Committee from August 1991 to August 1992, Ms. Wildman initiated a resolution for the bar association which urged Congress to establish various benefits for adoptive families. One part of that resolution, a tax credit for adoption expenses, is now available to many families.
