About the Escapement

The Escapement was founded in 1976 to provide vintage watch restoration and repair service to the Binghamton, NY area, and has now expanded to cover all of the United States and Canada.
I'm Ed Ueberall, the owner, and I've been collecting watches since the mid 1970's, specializing in watches used on North American railroads. I'm a life member of A.W.I. (the American Watchmakers/Clockmakers Institute) and a long term member of N.A.W.C.C (National Association of Watch & Clock Collectors). I'm also the co-author (with Kent Singer) of the "Railroaders' Corner" column in the N.A.W.C.C. Bulletin.
