Chocolate Turtle Cake

1 box chocolate cake mix
1/2 pkg of Kraft Caramels
1 can Eagle Brand Condensed Milk
pecans <optional>

Mix cake mix according to box directions.  Pour half the batter into a prepared 9 x 13 cake pan, bake at recommended oven temp for 15 minutes.  Melt caramels and condensed milk together in double boiler or microwave, add pecans if desired and pour over the baked cake and then top with rest of batter and return to oven for another 15 to 20 minutes.
