Banana Split Bars Submitted by ALONG37264
This is a rich
dessert, but very yummy and my family loves it in summertime because it is
stored in the refrigerator.
2 cups flour
1 cup sugar
3/4 tsp baking
soda
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp
cinnamon
1 (8oz) can
crushed pineapples with juice
2 eggs
1/2 cup oil
2 - 3 very ripe
bananas, mashed
1 tsp vanilla
1/4 cup
maraschino cherries, halved
Preheat oven to
350. Grease and flour 9x13 pan.
In large bowl
mix together flour, sugar, baking soda, salt and cinnamon.
Add can of
crushed pineapple, eggs, oil, bananas and vanilla, mix well.
Stir in
cherries and pour into prepared pan.
Bake for 30 -
35 minutes, Frost cake while still warm.
FROSTING
1/4 cup butter,
melted
1 tsp vanilla
3 cups powdered
sugar
4 Tblsp milk
In medium bowl,
combine melted butter, vanilla, and powdered sugar. Beat in milk
one tablespoon at a time until desired consistency. Pour over the warm
cake and place in refrigerator. Cut into bars and serve.
*I always use 3
ripe bananas and the entire jar of maraschino cherries, I just drain the
cherries and mix them in without cutting them in half since my family loves it
this way.
