The meaning of Sirio

Italian for Sirius - the brightest star in the night sky, a closely watched celestial beacon throughout recorded history. Sirius is the luminary of the constellation Canis Major, the Greater Dog, which represents Orion's larger hunting dog, and is commonly referred to as the "Dog Star."

Sirio Boxers is the combination of RNL Boxers - Lisa Smith, and Rolyn Boxers - Carolyn Phillips. We decided that 5 years of combined efforts deserved to belong to one kennel name.

Lisa has been involved in the breeding and showing of boxers since 1991. Carolyn got her start with Rottweilers in 1988. Lisa and Carolyn met in 1998 when Carolyn purchased her first boxer from Lisa.

We found that we had similar ideas, and husbands who while supportive, were not interested in even 15 seconds of "dog talk".

We are now partnering to acheive the goal of exhibiting and occasionally breeding our dogs, when they meet our temperament and health requirements.
