The Administration is in the Developers' Pockets Take a quick look around the South Brunswick municipal landscape. There, over near Little Rocky Hill, are two Democrat members of the current administration arranging a meeting on behalf of a developer. This developer wants to build 400 or more homes in the Little Rocky Hill area near Highgate. Look, there at the municipal building - the chairman of the Planning Board is limiting the ability of members of the public to speak while developers are given as much time as they wish. Right in the heart of South Brunswick, right along Route 1, these same majority-holding Democrats give a developer 5 million dollars for acreage which fronts along Route 1 (beautiful, eh?). Just a little further over, the Planning Board is currently developing a new zone - another planned residential community zone which will include rental units and more than double the density of the first planned adult residential zone. While it is more disturbing that allegations are that this new zone has actually been drafted by the developer who purchased the former Metroplex property; the most disturbing piece of news is that South Brunswick's Democratic machine politicians are even thinking about converting the current commercial and office space zone of the Metroplex site to residential. The next time the Democrats in power come up for air, ask them how much these developers contributed to Democrat machine political coffers at either the local or county level. It's a good bet their names will appear on the list of large givers. A pocket is not a terribly large place; but, with so many developers taking their money from so many different pockets to give it to these politicians' campaign coffers, it's no wonder there's enough room for each one of them to rest snugly and comfortably.
