The Club Lottery... bee lucky!

This is basically a quarterly lottery draw run by the Surrey Beekeepers' Association for which there are cash prizes. It has not been in operation for some months, and it is proposed to re-form the Club. It is hoped to find at least 200 participants who would each pay £12 per year to become a member and so enter the draw. The scheme would run on an annual basis. 60% of the cash collected will be distributed in 4 quarterly draws; the Association will retain the remainder.

The quarterly draw would consist of 50% to the winner, 25% second prize and the remainder shared equally as a third and fourth prize. For example 200 members at £12 would produce £2400 resulting in a 1st prize of £180, a second prize of £90, and 3rd and 4th prizes of £45 each.

As in the past, John von Gerard, who was for many years the treasurer of SBKA, would operate the scheme. If you would like to take part in this please contact John. You won't win the millions of the Lottery; but some would say that you could win a more civilised amount, and you would, indirectly, be helping our bees.
