Geoworks' desktop products were sold to a group of folks that are Geoworks USERS, and they have named their new company NewDeal. At this site, to avoid repetition and conservation of space, we will be referring to Geos/NewDeal products as "ND". The new product is called New Deal Office, or NDO. All appropriate registered marks and copyrights apply with regard to product names and platforms.

ND is a Scouter's DREAM come true! There is NO other software product on the market now or in the past which will do all of this using a 286 personal computer with a megabyte (that's ONE, not 16, not 8 nor 4!) of memory and a 20 megabyte (not gigabyte, not 200 megabyte, but 20 MB) hard drive:

• Create great-looking posters for Roundup/recruiting drives
• Create a program cover with all contents, suitable for high-quality printing and copying
• Create a spreadsheet showing your Scouts' advancement (and coming soon, a program which will actually allow you to post information to a standard BSA advancement report!)
• Allow you to maintain a database of your unit members, leaders, and others in the community, available for dialing with ONE button
• Allow you to view today's calendar and to print it out in several versions and varieties
• Allow you to import graphics to your computer in one of several popular formats, and to export those same graphics...or documents....to one of 45 most popular file formats (new and old!)
• Allow you to print all of the above and more using YOUR printer (yeah, that 9 or 24 pin jobby you have over there in the corner, which you haven't used since someone told you "you ain't nothing unless you have a laser printer!" with the same or near same quality you would get from a laser printer...using REGULAR PAPER
• Use several different fonts all at the same time and seeing what you're getting before you print!
• and STILL run your DOS and Windows ^tm programs (as long as you have either or both on your machine....(why would you want to, though, when you can "do it with ND!")

Remember: 286 machine, 1 MB RAM, 20 MB HD (the program and it's supporting files only take up half of that drive). Oh yeah...it would be great to have a 9600 baud or better modem for the Internet utilities!
