RRCA Newsletter Competition Regional Evaluation Form
Each year the RRCA sponsors a newsletter contest to select the best club newsletter in the nation. There are three categories: Large Club (500+ members), Medium Club (100-499 members), and Small Club (less than 100 members).
This form is a guideline for your club to use in evaluating your newsletter. Numbers in ( ) indicate possible points for each item.
Primary Function of the club newsletter
Includes a schedule of upcoming races and activities (5)
Includes timely information (5)
Includes news and results about past club races (5)
Includes news about past and future club events (5)
Includes news directed to all levels of running capabilities (5)
Content of Copy
Is there a variety to the material? (5)
Is most material generated by club members ? (5)
Is there any national RRCA news or programs? (5)
Are club members mentioned frequently? (5)
Are there stories about individual club members? (5)
Is reprinted material clearly attributed? (if not deduct 5 points)
Physical Presentation
Is the cover distinctive? (5)
Are photos and graphics well laid out? (5)
Is the Layout "clean" and neat? (5)
Is all spelling and grammar correct? (5)

Effectiveness
Does the newsletter inspire members to train, participate,
