Ever since the time of Adam and Eve God has tried to bring his children home to Him. God hates sin, but He loves you so much! He always has. You are His creation, how could He help but love you? You were created in His image, to be His child, to be cared for by Him, to be loved by Him. You were created in His image. This means you have been touched by eternity and that you will live for ever. Yes, some day you will die, but in God's plan your death is only a new beginning and you will be resurrected when Christ returns. The only difference is that some will rise to eternal life and others will rise to go into eternal punishment. Do you know which you will rise to?
God knows that we are sinners that we are not capable of living perfect sinless lives, and that we cannot pay for this sin ourselves. The amazing thing is that He loves you so much that He sent His Son, and accepts His death on the cross as full payment for your sins. "But God demonstrates his own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us." Yes, God became flesh, He came to us as Jesus Christ, lived a sinless life, and died on the cross for You! He was buried, rose again on the third day, and in that resurrection overcame Satan and death, that you might have eternal life through Him. Yes, He died for you! What an awesome gift from an awesome God and all you have to do is believe that Jesus Christ died for you.
What makes this greater still, is that this gift is totally free. You can not earn it. In fact Ephesians 2:8-9 states, " For by grace you have been saved through faith and not that of yourself, it is the gift of God and not of works, lest anyone should boast." That is why you must believe in Jesus by faith. You cannot earn it, by going to church, by being nice or by helping and giving to others. So please accept the greatest gift of all, it is free, it is love, it is for you. Pray to Jesus now, right where you are and accept by faith and faith alone that Jesus died for you. For He did! Believing that all of your sins have been forgiven, because of His death on the cross for you. Thank Him for His great gift, rise up into His arms for you are now His child, and you will be loved forever.
