ASTRL is a nonprofit research lab that listens to the needs of people with disabilities to determine meaningful research projects with which to focus its efforts on.

 

What is Assistive Speech Technology?
Speech technologies include areas such as speech recognition, speech synthesis, speech coding, speech enhancement, speech signal processing, speaker adaptation, speaker identification, speaker verification, and speech understanding. Assistive Speech Technology includes applications of this technology for people with special needs including devices such as augmentative communication systems, screen readers, speech recognizers, and hearing aids.
