Call For Papers
The Kansas City Missouri School District Planetarium at South
West High School,
in Kansas City MO, is planning Astronomy and Space Day for May
9-10
and is reaching out to astronomy and space interest groups for
presentation papers.
Presentations will be featured on Saturday May 10. There is a
tentative four Tract schedule
that may change as the plans develop. If you would like to
present a paper on the suggested
topics, please click the email link below to send in your
abstract. Keep your presentation
to about 30 minutes. There is a limit to the amount of time
available for a one day conference.
We will stop taking paper submissions when the schedule is full.
Submit Paper
Friday: 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM
Commencement and training of volunteers for Saturday.

Saturday: 9:00 AM until 4:00 PM details to be announced,
as presentation papers are submited and plans are firmed up.

Tract One: Bob Riddle, Planetarium Director presents. . .
Planetarium Director Bob Riddle will conduct astronomy
presentations throughout the day giving attendees an idea of what
is featured at the planetarium.

Tract two:
Near term goals or Mission to Planet Earth goals.
The Economics of Space and education.
1. Working towards a stronger economy, so we will have a more
vigorous nation.
2. Promoting alternative energy resources to free the United
States from foreign energy reliance.
3. Promoting the use of near Earth orbit for civilian uses.
Tract Three:
Mid-term Goals:
1. Promoting an automated rover mission to the Moon to conduct
resource surveys and practice remote construction techniques
needed for usage of Lunar resources for building Lunar
structures.
2. Promoting a manned mission to the Moon. After a remotely
operated mission has established a habitat on the Lunar surface.
3. Promoting the establishment of a permanent Lunar base.

Long Term Goals:
1. Promoting continued automated exploration of Mars.
2. Promoting a future manned Mars mission.
3. Promoting continued exploration of the Solar System and
beyond.
