Regal Equestrian Venture's (REV) mission is to provide quality instruction for the beginning to advanced rider from child through adult. While REV focuses upon dressage and combined training, the techniques and philosophies taught strive to educate and enhance the basics for all equine disciplines.
REV encourages a competitive as well as recreational atmosphere in order to challenge both horse and rider to excel as athletes. REV uses the following avenues to accomplish this mission:
*Qualified ,dedicated instruction *Riding and groundwork clinics *Book reviews *Quality school horses *Safe , open riding arenas *3 barns to choose from with indoor and outdoor arenas *Travel to individual barns available *Field trips *Competitive program
Kerry has been teaching and riding for 10 years specializing in dressage, training the young horse and training beginning eventers. Kerry is a USDF "L" judge in dressage and has also competed through FEI levels in dressage .
Kerry has years of teaching experience in various disciplines and has taken those skills to her riding instruction. She has an innovative, relaxed and positive teaching style. Her teaching is based strongly upon classical, fundamental dressage techniques.
Kerry has studied dressage through the USDF Instructor's Training programs. She has also participated in clinics with both American and German instructors in riding, teaching and judging. Her dressage education includes work with Betsy Steiner and Marina Genn. Her current instructor is Maryal Barnett who is an AHSA "S" Judge, as well as USDF Clinician and Instructor. Kerry also apprenticed as an instructor with Maryal for 5 years.
Kerry encourages her students to compete as a way of evaluating their progress. She feels competition challenges them and helps them set reachable goals. Kerry is available for coaching at competitions throughout the dressage and combined training season.
Kerry discovered riding as an adult so she has a special love for teaching adults who have always desired to ride. Her goal is to help the adult beginner feel as comfortable on horseback as her students who have ridden since they were five. And speaking of those 5 year olds, REV believes horses and kids are meant to be together. Starting kids at the age of 4 or 5 and patiently teaching them basic safety, handling and riding techniques allows them to become confident of their skills and abilities. This allows the children to grow at their own pace and discover the area of equestrian sports they feel most suited to whether it be pleasure, showing, dressage, jumping, eventing or other equine disciplines.
Whatever your equine interests we hope you will drop us a line and give us a try. We're sure we can get you and your horse "REV'd" about your riding!
