Any current Guild member can stand for election onto the committee. The various posts are decided amongst the committee.
EDITOR OF QUILLERS TODAY : Mish
Laughton has the role of editing three
newsletters per year. She will be very pleased to receive contributions (which
must be original) and also any comments you may wish to make on the magazine.
Send dates of events you may be organising for publication and a report of
recent happenings which might inspire others. Mish says, “I am a contracts
General manager at Kirton in Lindsey army barracks. I live in Grimsby and enjoy
the company of my three dogs, my father’s three cats, and a tank full of
tropical fish. Although I can quill I prefer to be involved with the
Newsletter using my computer. My main interests are photography and foreign
travel, caravanning, learning the flute and restructuring
the house and garden and keeping my father busy! This picture was taken in
December 2003 on my latest foreign trip. I am standing in the solar boat museum

CHAIRMAN: Peter Herring is now into his third year of chairing our Guild and
a very good job he does too!
By day he works as a civilian auditor for Norfolk County Constabulary.. He lives with his
wife Angela, our Junior Newsletter Editor, and daughter Christine in Dereham

VICE-CHAIRMAN: Jane Jenkins is a founder member of the
Quilling Guild and an Honorary Vice President. This is her second time on the
committee. Jane runs a very successful quilling supplies business with her
husband, Paul and they also teach workshops all over Great Britain.

SECRETARY: Sue Searle is the Guild Secretary and
she prepares and sends out agendas and minutes of the committee meetings
along with reports from officers. She is also responsible for sending out
information about the AGM each year. Sue works full-time as a PA Secretary at Weston
College. She spends a lot of her little spare time quilling and
also teaches a monthly class.
TREASURER: Paul
Jenkins has quilled for 25 years or so and when he can, enjoys naturalistic
wildlife pictures, and has taught infants, juniors and, later, adults. He
was one of the founder members of the Guild, has served at different times
on the committee, for a time as Chairman, now the Treasurer, and is
proud to be a Vice President. He says, 'I find quillers a nice bunch and
much respect the dedication shown by many to the craft we admire and love to
share. The committee meetings are fun and the cake is good. On the whole,
I can't believe my luck!'

MEMBERSHIP SECRETARY:
Sheila Harrop deals with applications
for membership, receives subscriptions and keeps the database up to date. A
retired teacher who has been quilling for 15 years,
Sheila is self-taught and joined the Guild in 1992. She loves travelling and
enjoys turning designs from
other countries into quilling patterns. Sheila is particularly fond of
designs from Mexico, Nepal, India and Switzerland. She says she never finds
enough time for quilling and has recently established a small group of local
quillers. Sheila is also interested in music, singing in a choir and playing
guitar and viola, photography, gardening and keeping up friendships
scattered around the country and the world.
GUILD REPRESENTATIVES OFFICER:
Cathy Russell
lives in Chingford in N London and has been a Guild member for over 10 years.
She has served two terms as Chairman and now oversees our reps. She works as an
occupational therapist and her other main interest is narrowboating. She owns a narrowboat and spends as many weekends as possible
exploring neighbouring waterways. If you would like information about becoming

EDITOR OF QUILLING WISE : Angela Herring is the
editor of the junior's magazine. Angela is a longtime member of the
Guild and has held various posts on the committee including Secretary and
Archive Officer. She is always pleased to receive contributions suitable for

ARCHIVIST: Gwyneth Buckle is our new Archivist.
She joined the Guild in 1986 and was an Area Rep: for about 13 years.
Having restored a 17th C Russian Icon in the only travelling shrine outside
Russia she became very interested in the "exquisite" ancient quilling
produced. Her other hobbies now include painting, both pictorial and Life,
walking (in spite of 2 'tin' hips) and singing in both secular and Taize
choirs. She has a husband who is very longsuffering (quillingwise), 2
daughters, 4 grandchildren and has just acquired a baby step-great-grandson! Gwyneth can be contacted at

PUBLICATIONS OFFICER: Pat Pritchard lives in a small Warwickshire
village with her Tibetan
terrier, Jack. Her other interests include cross-stitch, inland waterways
and looking after her grandchildren. She'll be more than happy to supply you
with copies of the Guild's publications - just check out our Sources & Resources
page!

Officer answering any general queries about the Guild. She lives in Pill near
Bristol and has been a member of the Guild for three years. She is extremely keen on all kinds of crafts
