To all lodges in Texas;
The Membership in Texas has been in decline for many years. The members of the Grand Council would like every member in the state to make an effort to recruit new members for the Order. As we all know, if you don't "ASK", you can't get new members.
The following membership initiative is to be in effect until March 31, 2002, unless all funds be promised before that date.
The amount of $5.00 will be given, at the Grand Lodge Convention in June 2002, for the following.
An "ASK" form, properly filled out and signed by the member, which states the name, address, phone number, and other information about a possible qualified candidate for membership in the order.
The maximum number of these forms from any one member to be paid on will be 10.
The form must be turned in to the Grand Secretary before the March 31, 2002 deadline.
The member turning in the form must have, after August 2001, asked the man to join the Pythian order, and the form must explain the reply received.
In such case as more than a total number of 100 "ASK" forms have been turned in, only the first 100 forms will be paid on, using the date received by the Grand Secretary as the official date turned in.

The amount of $10.00 will be paid, at the Grand Lodge Convention 2002, to any member who asks, and is successful, in getting a man to join the order and become a Knight. (In this case, the $5.00 "ASK" funds will not be paid)
The $10.00 will be allowed to any member who gets a qualified member into his lodge, and gets him through the rank of Knight by March 31, 2002.
In order to qualify for the $10.00, the new candidate must have been asked, must have joined, and must have attained the rank of Knight, after August 2001 and before March 31, 2002.
There will be no maximum number of submissions from any member, except that the total number of Grand Lodge payouts under this plan will not exceed 100 for the year 2001-2002.
In the case of more than 100 new members across the state, payouts will be paid according to the date of confirmation of the new member as a Knight, as attested to by the Secretary and Chancellor Commander of that lodge, and MUST be in the Grand Secretary's hands by March 31, 2002.
The information submitted on the "ASK" form will be used to send out follow up information about our order, as well as notice of special Pythian events and happenings around the state.
