CAPTURING INFO ON RETALIATION BY ANY SYSTEM, SCHOOL CCB, ETC.
Ways in which retaliatory statement or
actions could be captured - against any person or agency or whatever.
I think it would accomplish two purposes:
1. Those engaging in retaliation would be a bit more cautious about what
they say or do.
2. We need to quantify this a bit. Is it really going on, or is most of
it in the minds of folks?
If we find it is really going on, then what?
I know folks would be hesitant to report it.
Here are some options:
1. A telephone "hot line" where folks could call and report it
anonymously, as much about it as they might like.
2. An email hot line for the same.
3. An address where folks could mail stuff in anonymously.
4. A web site with a place for a form to be completed anonymously.
5. A "poll" like we just did.
6. Asking "advocates" and others about their perceptions of
retaliation.
7. Joining with some organization - such as the Legal Center - Colorado
Arc - CCDC - to pursue the topic. I know that CCDC does have (or is planning)
some sort of reporting mechanism for things such as this.
Perhaps we wouldn't get any response? Still, the very existence of a
reporting mechanism would give folks using retaliation second thoughts.
