WINTERLAND
NEWSLETTER
General Delivery.
Feversham, Ont., N0C 1C0
Our fall meeting
was held September 24, 2006 at the Club House. Special thanks to
all who attended and to all the Volunteers who helped make last year
a success. We would also like to give special thanks to the Land
Owners who have made the Snowmobile Trails possible for us. Please
show respect to the Land Owner's rights and property so we may continue
having this privilege.
The Poker Run in
February was a success, and the Golf
Tournament in June was a lot of fun for everyone with great weather. Thanks to all the Participants and Volunteers for
both events!
Soon we will be
putting stakes out to mark the Trails and hope for lots of snow.
Trail conditions will be posted on the OFSC Web site, this Web Site, and
most radio stations. If you are unsure about conditions on Osprey
Trails or whether trails are opened or closed, please contact Kacey
Legge (Trail Mster) at 519-922-2307 for information.
Unfortunately
someone destroyed another Outhouse on our Trail last winter. If
anyone happens to witness any sort of vandalism on the trials please
contact us. This is becoming very expensive for the Snow Hawks and
if it happens again, unfortunately we will not have the privilege of
outhouses on the trail.
Please note that
our Club House is open 24 hours per day, 7 days per week during the Snowmobile
Season. Come in and make yourself some coffee or hot chocolate and warm
up. Chili and hot dogs will be available for sale on most weekends
of the season.
Reminder:
there is NO FUEL IN FEVERSHAM. The closest
gas stations are in Dundalk and Singhampton.
2007 will mark
the 40th Anniversary of the Osprey Snow Hawks. We are planning a
party at the Maxwell Hall on April 27, 2007. If anyone has any
Snow Hawks Memorabilia they would like to share with us, please contact
Debbie Legge at 519-922-2307. We would like to have a good display
at this party. We are also thinking of ordering Sweatshirts and
Golg Shirts with the Osprey Snow Hawks 40th Logo on them. Anyone
interested in this, please call Debbie Legge for more information.
It is the
law in the province of Ontario for each sled using an OFSC Trail
to display a valid snowmobile Trail Permit. This requirement
applies to OFSC Trails on Private, Crown, and
Municipal land, and is enforceable by Police agencies, S.T.O.P. Officers, and Conservation Officers. The fine
for not having a Valid Trail Permit is a minimum of $200.00 to a
maximum of $1,000.00. The fine for failing to display a Valid
Trail Permit in the identified location on the sled is $90.00.
