The Society is fortunate to have in its collection many unique and interesting documents of historical and genealogical significance. Our plan is to make transcripts -- and eventually images -- of these documents available to you here on our website.
To move forward, our plan requires dedicated transcribers and dedicated funds. If you can help with the slow and painstaking work of transcribing -- these are old, difficult to read documents full of unusual spellings, constructions, and conventions, as one transcriber attests -- or with a contribution earmarked for our Documents Online project, please contact our Director, Tom Kuehhas, by phone at 516 922-5032, by fax at 516 922-6892, or by email.
Applause, applause and a great big thanks to the National Honor Society Students at St. Dominic High School in Oyster Bay who transcribed most of the historical documents you can now read on our website. The group under the able direction of Michael J. Hanophy PhD, Moderator of the National Honor Society, consisted of Bryan Berg, Peter Bullwinkel, Keith Fochi, Christina Gentile, Stephanie Grace, Ken Romano, and Christine Seewald. Thanks all; you did a splendid job!
Thanks too to Sean Quinlan and Cristina Meng who also transcribed several of the documents.
