Grand Master of Masons, in the State of New-York;

To the Worshipful William D. Morgan
Master of Washington.....Lodge No. 84

Whereas, it has been represented to me, that Thomas Villanueva, and Alexander Salgavo..... are desirous of being Initiated into the mysteries of our order; and that being about to leave this City, it would be more convenient for Them, and for the said Lodge, that the three degrees of Masonry should be conferred on them at one meeting of the same:

Now, therefore, I do, by these presents, authorize you, to confer on the said Thomas and Alexander..... with the consent and approbation of your said Lodge; at any one meeting thereof, the several degrees of Entered Apprentice, Fellow Craft, and Master Mason; and for so doing this Dispensation shall be your sufficient warrant.

Provided always, that such Initiation shall not be construed to make the said Thomas and Alexander..... members of the said Lodge, unlefs they may have been previously, or shall be afterwards duly proposed, ballotted for, and admitted as such, according to the By-Laws of the said Lodge.
