Services

Stenographers who provide speech to text services are trained to give a verbatim service. Qualified reporters are trained to type at a minimum rate of 180 words per minute up to 250 words per minute and will sometimes reach a massive 300 words a minute!

As part of the training I have completed a Deaf Awareness Certificate and been successfully examined by deaf examiners. Also, I have completed a course in British Sign Language Stage 1.

I have now been supplying the Speech to Text Service for Christian Organisations for the last 2-3 years. I regularly provide the service in my local church and have also provided the service at Flames of Fire (New Wine Cymru) event in Builth Wells for the last 3 years.

Following the success of the service in Spring Harvest in 2005, I have been asked back and will be providing the service again at Week 3 Minehead (11th-16th April 2006) and Week 4 Skegness (18th-23rd April 2006).

My services can be booked for conferences or for single users. For single users the client would sit next to me and read words off the laptop (above left). For multiple users such as those utilising the service in a conference, then the words would be projected onto a larger screen (above right) or a plasma screen, or even a large screen TV.
