Lo, children are an inheritance from Jehovah, and the fruit of the womb a reward. As arrows in the hand of a mighty man, so are the children of youth. Happy is the man that hath filled his quiver with them”. Psa 127:3,5 An Arrow must be formed right. It must come from the right parentage and the parents must have a desire to bring the child up on the right path.
It must be made straight. Taught the words of the Bible which are able to make it straight.
It must be balanced From the earliest age it must be shown the difference between right and wrong. A good church and attendance there with parents will help.
It must be properly flighted. A child must have that given to it teaching that will always be with it to guide it
It must be directed by someone else A child does not automatically know what is right unless it is taught. This is the responsibility of the parents and the church.
It must be directed toward a target If you aim at nothing you are sure to hit nothing. Good discipline needed.
All preparation must be done before it is released. Most training is done early before a child reaches seven years of age.
When released from the hand of the archer there is no more control over the arrow. The arrow is then at the mercy circumstances beyond the archers control. Wind, weather and world circumstances can deflect it’s future journey.
A badly directed arrow can do great damage. It can injure or at the very worst kill.
The Bible gives the best advice with a promise. “Train up the child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it”. Prov 22:6
