Pixel Snowman

Printer friendly version HERE
1. Open a transparent
canvas of 100 by 100 pixels. Flood fill
this layer with as shade of pink (this is so you
can see what you are doing) Create a
second raster layer. Make sure this is the
active layer by clicking on it.
2. Pick your paintbrush
set at size one and draw the outline by
following the picture.
These are the colors that I
chose but feel free to choose your own.
Body: #60BDD8
Hat: #000000

3. Pick your magic wand
and select inside all 3 sections of the body and
the hat. (Hold down the shift key to
select more than one area at a time)
4. Pick your flood fill
tool (the bucket) and fill in your snowman.
These are the colors that I chose
Body #FFFFFF (white)
Hat #404040
Keep selected!
5. Create a third raster
layer and then draw in some shading, similar to
to the following picture. (it doesn't have to be
exactly the same as mine!)
These are the colors that I
used:
Body shading #60BDD8
Hat shading #C0C0C0 and #000000
Keeping selected, add a
gaussian blur of 2.
Deselect.
6. Hide the very bottom
layer (the pink layer) and merge visible.
7. Now draw in the
features. You may find it easier to draw
the features on a separate layer so you can move
them about, but this is up to you.
These are the colors I used:
Eyes/mouth/arms/buttons =
#000000
Nose:
Dark #FC5F00
Medium #FC8800
Light #F5BFA1
8. Now you need to put a
glint in his eye! Just use your paintbrush
at size one and color #C0C0C0.
9. Hide (if not already
hidden) or delete the very bottom layer (the one
filled with pink!) Merge visible and save as a
.psp file for future use.
That's it! You're done!
