Pixel Rudolf

I drew this one last year before I was writing tutorials for my pixels so I thought it was the right time of year to write one for him!

Printer friendly version HERE

1.  Open a transparent canvas of 200 x 200 pixels.  Flood fill this layer with white and then create a second raster layer, this is the layer that we will be drawing on so make sure it is the active layer by clicking on it.

2.  Pick your paintbrush set at size one and draw the outline by following the pictures.

These are the colors that I chose but feel free to pick your own.

Main body/antlers: #9C5E23
Chest/belly/back of tail: #ECAD75
Hooves: #683C17

(I have put the hooves in blue so you can see them clearly...but you use #683C17)

3.  Pick your flood fill tool and making sure that the 'sample merged' box is checked, fill in your Rudolf.  These are the colors that I chose:

Main body/legs: #C98242
Chest/belly/back of tail/antlers: #F3C299
Hooves: #935620

You should now have this (but smaller!)

NOW FOR THE SHADING!

Deselect and repeat this cut out on the right inner ear but changing the horizontal to -3 (minus 3)

Deselect.

Hide the bottom layer (the one we filled white) and then merge visible.

Save as a .psp file for future use.

That's it!  You're done!
