1. Open a
transparent canvas of 75 X 100 pixels. Flood fill
this layer with white and then create a second raster
layer. This is the layer we will be drawing on so
make sure it is the active layer by clicking on it.
2. Pick your
paintbrush and set at size one, draw the outline.
These are the colors
that I chose.
Body: #404040
Beak/feet: #E4A100
Belly: #C0C0C0

3. Pick your
flood fill tool and making sure that the 'sample merged'
box is checked, fill in your penguin.
These are the colors
that I chose.
Head/body: #808080
Beak/foot: #FFDD88
Belly: #FFFFFF*
*Make sure you do fill
in the belly even though you cannot see it!
NOW FOR THE SHADING
4. With your
magic wand select the head.
Selections > Float
> Effects > 3D Effects > Cutout
With these settings:
Vertical = 2
Horizontal = -1
Opacity = 90
Blur = 10
Shade = #000000
Deselect.
5. With your
magic wand select the body.
Selections > Float
> Effects > 3D Effects > Cutout
With these settings:
Vertical = 1
Horizontal = -2
Opacity = 90
Blur = 11
Shade = #000000
Deselect.
6. With your
magic wand select the belly.
Selections > Float
> Effects > 3D Effects > Cutout
With these settings:
Vertical = -1
Horizontal = 0
Opacity = 90
Blur = 6
Shade = #808080
Deselect.
7. With your
magic wand select the beak.
Selections > Float
> Effects > 3D Effects > Cutout
With these settings:
Vertical = 1
Horizontal = 1
Opacity = 70
Blur = 2
Shade = #E4A100
Deselect.
8. With your
magic wand select the foot.
Selections > Float
> Effects > 3D Effects > Cutout
With these settings:
Vertical = 1
Horizontal = 1
Opacity = 70
Blur = 3
Shade = #E4A100
Deselect.
9. Using color
#000000 draw in the eye.

Save as a psp. file for
future use.
That's it..... You're
done!
