1. Open a
transparent canvas of 100 x 100 pixels,
fill this layer with white and create a
second raster layer, this is the layer
that we will be drawing on so make sure
it is the active layer by clicking on
it.
2. Pick your
paintbrush tool, set at size one, and
draw the outline by following the
picture. These are the colors that
I used, but feel free to choose your
own.
Main body #977153
Beak/claws #F6A628
Eyes #C0C0C0
Breast #D5D5D5
Eyes #000000
3. Pick your flood fill
tool (the bucket) and making sure that
the 'sample merged' box is checked, fill
in your owl. These are the colors
that I used:
Top of head/wings
#BD9779
Face/outer breast #FFE6AB
Beak/claws/F8BF64
Eyes #FFFFFF
NOW FOR THE SHADING
4. With your
magic wand, select the top of the head.
Selections > Float
> Effects > 3D Effects > Cutout
with these settings:
Vertical = 1
Horizontal = 0
Opacity = 100
Blur = 4
Shade = #977153
Deselect
5. With your
magic wand, select the left wing (your
left).
Selections > Float
> Effects > 3D Effects > Cutout
with these settings:
Vertical = 0
Horizontal = 1
Opacity = 100
Blur = 4
Shade = #977153
Deselect
6. With your
magic wand, select the right wing (your
right)
Selections > Float
> Effects > 3D Effects > Cutout
with these settings:
Vertical = 0
Horizontal = -1
Opacity = 100
Blur = 4
Shade = #977153
Deselect
7. With your
magic wand, select the Eye surround.
Selections > Float
> Effects > 3D Effects > Cutout
with these settings:
Vertical = 1
Horizontal = 0
Opacity = 100
Blur = 2
Shade = #D3B97F
Deselect
8. With your
magic wand, select the outer breast
area.
Selections > Float
> Effects > 3D Effects > Cutout
with these settings:
Vertical = 1
Horizontal = 0
Opacity = 100
Blur = 3
Shade = #D3B97F
Deselect
9. With your
magic wand, select the inner breast
area.
Selections > Float
> Effects > 3D Effects > Cutout
with these settings:
Vertical = -1
Horizontal = 0
Opacity = 100
Blur = 4
Shade = #D5D5D5
Deselect
10. Pick your
paintbrush tool again, set as size one,
and draw in some detail on the breast, I
used color #E6E6E6

11. Hide or delete the
bottom layer (the one we filled with
white) and save as a .psp file for
future use. That's it,
you're done! I hope you
