1.  Open a transparent canvas of 150 x 250 pixels.  Flood fill with white and create a second raster layer, this is the layer that we will be drawing on so make sure it is the active layer by clicking on it.

2.  Pick your paintbrush set at size one and draw the outline by following the next two pictures.
I used color #763C28 but feel free to use your own.

3.  Pick your  flood fill tool (the bucket) and making sure that the 'sample merged' box is checked, fill in your giraffe.  These are the colors that I used:

Body and legs: #FCDDCB
Inner ears, nostrils, tail end #BB8774

4.  Pick your magic wand and select the main body area.

Selections > Float > Effects > 3D Effects > Cutout
with these settings:

Vertical = -3
Horizontal = 1
Opacity = 50
Blur = 10
Shade = #9A5A46

Deselect

5.  Pick your magic wand and select the main both of the 'far' legs
(hold down the sift key to select more than one area at a time).

Selections > Float > Effects > 3D Effects > Cutout
with these settings:

Vertical = -3
Horizontal = 1
Opacity = 40
Blur = 10
Shade = #9A5A46

DO NOT Deselect

Apply a second cut out:

Vertical = 6
Horizontal = 0
Opacity = 50
Blur = 10
Shade = #9A5A46

Deselect

6.  Pick your lasso tool (free hand selection tool) and select the bobbles on the top of your giraffe's head (hold down the shift key to select more than one area) like this:

Selections > Float > Effects > 3D Effects > Cutout
with these settings:

Vertical = 0
Horizontal = 0
Opacity = 100
Blur = 4
Shade = #9A5A46

Deselect

7.  OK, now to add some patches!  With your paintbrush set at size one, and your color set to the outline color (mine was #763C28) draw in some patches.  I haven't numbered them because you can do them however you wish!  After all, no two giraffes have the same spots!  Honest!  Just make sure you don't leave any gaps!

8.  Pick your flood fill tool (the bucket) un-check the 'sample merged' box and set the tolerance to 30.  Fill in your patches. I used #9A5A46.  If you find at some point that it fills in more than your patch, you probably have a gap!  Hit the undo, go looking and fill it in :-)

9.  Now add some eyes.  I used #FEF3EC and #000000.

Save as a .psp file for future use.

That's it, you're done!
