Pixel Apple
with Worm

To make
this pixel apple with a worm, all you need is PSP!
1.
Open a transparent canvas of 130 X 130 pixels.
Flood fill this layer with white and then make a second
raster layer. This is the layer that we will be
drawing on so make sure it is the active layer by
clicking on it.
2.
Using your paintbrush set to size one, draw the outline
of the apple by following the next picture.
These are the colors that I chose but please feel free
to pick your own.
Red:
#961A2F
Green: #2D5428
Light brown of stalk: #7C5416 (main part of stalk)
Dark brown of stalk: #5D431B (very top of stalk)

3.
Pick your flood fill tool (the bucket) make sure that
the 'sample merged' box is checked. Fill in the
colors of your apple.
These are the colors that I chose:
Stalk
(main): #AF761B
Stalk top: #704F1C
Apple: #CB0324
leaves: #307E28
NOW
FOR THE SHADING!
4.
With your magic wand, select the apple.
Selections
> Float > Effects > 3D Effects > Cutout.
With these settings:
Vertical
= -2
Horizontal = 6
Opacity = 100
Blur = 3
Shade = #961A2F
Deselect.
5.
With your magic wand, select the left leaf (your left!).
Selections
> Float > Effects > 3D Effects > Cutout.
With these settings:
Vertical
= -2
Horizontal = 1
Opacity = 100
Blur = 10
Shade = #2D5428
Deselect.
6.
With your magic wand, select the right leaf (your
right!).
Selections
> Float > Effects > 3D Effects > Cutout.
With these settings:
Vertical
= -3
Horizontal = 2
Opacity = 100
Blur = 10
Shade = #2D5428
Deselect.
7.
With your magic wand, select the long part of the salk.
Selections
> Float > Effects > 3D Effects > Cutout.
With these settings:
Vertical
= 1
Horizontal = 2
Opacity = 80
Blur = 3
Shade = #7C5416
Deselect.
8.
Make a third raster layer and using color #F0DBBA and
your paintbrush at size one,
draw in similar to the picture below.

9.
Apply a gaussian blur of 3. Hide the very bottom
layer by clicking on the glasses and then merge
visible. Un hide the bottom layer again.
*(You
could duplicate and save your apple for future use as it
is now)*

10.
Make a new raster layer and draw the outline for the
worm. (you might find it easier to hide the apple
layer)
These are the color that I chose:
Worm:
#AF761B
Hole outline: #961A2F

11.
Using your flood fill tool, fill in your worm.
These are the colors that I chose:
Worm:
#CAA56A
Inside of hole: #F0DBBA
12.
With your magic wand, select the head.
Selections
> Float > Effects > 3D Effects > Cutout.
With these settings:
Vertical
= -2
Horizontal = 2
Opacity = 100
Blur = 9
Shade = #AF7618
Deselect.
13.
With your magic wand, select all of the worm segments
(hold down the sift key to select more than one area at
a time).
Selections
> Float > Effects > 3D Effects > Cutout.
With these settings:
Vertical
= 0
Horizontal = 3
Opacity = 100
Blur = 6
Shade = #AF7618
Deselect.
14.
With your magic wand, select the left part of the hole
(your left).
Selections
> Float > Effects > 3D Effects > Cutout.
With these settings:
Vertical
= -5
Horizontal = -3
Opacity = 100
Blur = 3
Shade = #EAC282
Deselect.
15.
With your magic wand, select the right part of the hole
(your right)
Selections
> Float > Effects > 3D Effects > Cutout.
With these settings:
Vertical
= -3
Horizontal = -1
Opacity = 100
Blur = 2
Shade = #EAC282
Deselect.
Draw
the features using color #7C5416

16.
Unhide the apple layer and hide the bottom layer (the
one that is flood filled with white) Using your mover
tool, move the worm into the position that you are happy
with and then merge visible.
17.
Save your apple with worm as a psp. file for future use!

it, you're done!
