Pixel
Angel #2
by
MOE

Printer friendly version HERE
(best viewed using
screen settings 1024 x 768 pixels due to large pictures)
To make this pixel angel, all you need
is PSP..... And patience!! 1.
Open a blank canvas of 250 X 150 pixels.
Flood fill this layer with white and the add a second
raster layer and name it 'wing'. This is the layer
that we will be drawing on so make sure that it is the
active layer by clicking on it. 2.
With your paint brush set to size one, draw the right
(your right) wing outline by following the next picture.
I used the color #B3E2F5. But please feel free to
choose your own color!
3. Duplicate this
wing layer and then:
image > mirror.
4. pick your
mover tool ( )
and line up the two wings by matching up the crosses so
that you only see two crosses. When you have lined
them up, hide the bottom layer and then: layers
> merge > merge visible. Un-hide the
bottom layer again. Now pick your eraser tool and erase
the crosses.
This is what you should
have now:

5. With your magic
wand, select inside of the wings and flood fill with #ECFAFE
(you can choose your own color if you wish!!)
Keep selected and go to:
selections > Float
> Effects > 3D Effects
using these settings:
Vertical = 2
Horizontal = 0
Opacity = 80
Blur = 6
Shade = #B3E2F5
Keep selected and add a
second cutout with these settings:
Vertical = -1
Horizontal = 0
Opacity = 80
Blur = 7
Shade = #B3E2F5
Deselect.
6. Add another raster
layer and with your paintbrush at size one and using the
wing outline color, draw in some details. The reason you
are doing this bit on a separate layer is so that you
can easily erase bits if you wish. I have not put
numbers on these lines because they do not need to be
exact.......... as long as you stay within the wings
that is!! lol.

7. Hide the
bottom layer and go to: layers > merge > merge
visible. Un hide the bottom layer and then re-name
the wings layer to ..... erm....... wings!! lol.
8. Create another
raster layer and name it 'body'. Draw the body
outline of the angel by following the next two pictures.
These are the colors
that I chose:
Skin = #D7AD8D
Gown = #DCB277
Hair = #8D5805

9. Hide the wings
layer and with your flood tool, fill in the angel. (make
sure that you have the sample merged box checked)
These are the colors I
chose:
Skin = #E3C8B3
Gown = #F5EAFE
Hair = #AA6D0C
'Inside' of the sleeves = #E4D193
