QUESTION: (Part 1)

I have a difficult time understanding some of the things I see on the hooves of horses. I think I now at least understand the theory of heeled-only shoes

But I still can't get a handle on the trailers left on the rear shoes of many show horses. I have heard it said it helps the horse walk better, but I sure can't figure why.

ANSWER

I use trailers with a slightly lower angle to smooth up a rough fox trot. The trailers let them slide in a little better. They would help with a little more reach at the walk.
