This is our UniQuery foundation course and is aimed at beginners, non-technical users and technical staff who will be using UniQuery on UniData systems This Course is suitable for anyone working on UniData systems. Prerequisites: A basic familiarity with the UniVerse system and the structure of files and records Contents: We cover the essential features of UniQuery statements and the UniQuery language: Displaying and printing reports Selection criteria Sort specifications Control-breaks Totals and subtotals Percentages and averages Modifiers We go on to look at: Select-lists Saved-lists The command stack Sentences and paragraphs In-line formatting with the EVAL, CNV, FMT, and COL.HDG clauses There is additional material on looking at dictionary descriptors. The Course applies the principles of UniQuery to a set of Course files and also to the student's own database. The Courses addresses the ECL-type issue by presenting both sets of features and pointing out where they are available and where they differ Printed version:
