This course is aimed at technical staff who need to be able to create and maintain D-type / I-type / V-type descriptors on MultiValue dictionaries for use with the query languages.
This Course is suitable for anyone working on:
jBASE
QM
UniData
Universe
systems.
Prerequisites: We assume a familiarity with the query languages language to the level reached on the introductory courses, such as and RETRIEVE1: Starting RetrieVe and UNIQUERY1: Starting UniQuery
Contents: We cover the nature and the contents of file dictionaries and descriptors, with particular attention to the I-expressions and conversion codes.
The course DICTS1: Dictionaries & A/S definitions looks at dictionaries which use A-type and S-type definitions.
