Some Business Ethics and Related Book Reviews

The Maine Research Library includes several hundred volumes relating to the ethics of business and economics.
We will gradually build a library of reviews here as new additions especially spark our interest.

  1. Competitiveness and Corporate Performance - Edited by Andrea Westall - IPPR, London, 1996

Business Ethics - Some World Wide Web Resources

The following list does not aim to be comprehensive. Rather, it includes a very small selection of sites chosen by David Murray as preferred initial entry points. By following these you will be able to follow further links into a veritable world of valuable ethics information on the Web.

 DePaul University, Chicago

Institute for Business and Professional Ethics Homepage

 Ethical Business

a valuable directory containing
many British links

   Case Western Reserve University

Ethics Center for Engineering and Science

Transparency International is the leading international NGO working against corruption, especially in international business dealings. David Murray is a member of the UK chapter and has worked with TI on anti-corruption initiatives in Central &Eastern Europe. Another useful set of pages is provided by the Institute for Global Ethics

Special Project - "Faith &Work"

The Faith &Work Project was commenced in 1992 as an ongoing exercise within MaineUK, exploring the relationships between faith and working life in co-operation with a wide variety of Christian organisations, chiefly in Europe and the USA. As of mid-1997 this exercise has involved us in visits to more than a dozen countries, working with Christian agencies and churches. The separate set of pages describing this project includes information on the Ridley Hall Foundation with which we work closely, and the quarterly journal, Faith in Business.
