These poems were written by somebody very dear to me. I think they are excellent and wanted to share them with everybody who takes the time to visit my Website. I wish I could write poems as good as these. You have to really understand poetry to appreciate these! I hope you enjoy reading them as much as I did..and understand them!
MIND SHOT Running around in circles balancing time in each hand questioning everything trying to count each grain of sand
Can't comprehend why in my mind I can bend the real world outside whilst it seems I'm the only one who from it has to hide see my reflection but can't make the connection like everything's just a riddle & I'm alone with only my thoughts with which to fiddle
and as things appear that should not I realise is just another mind shot
Need a lawyer to decipher this paranoia One day I'm my own enemy the next my only friend Hate only brings you down in the end And it'll get you back each time each panic attack and as you pick yourself up once again giving all you've got
you reload ready for another mind shot

SATURDAY'S TRYING TO KILL ME
Saturdays trying to kill me Sundays even worse If Monday doesn't't get me I'm sure Tuesday will be in there first wednesdays halfway there For Thursday I could'nt care And when Friday comes around We'll see That Saturday's still trying to kill me. ©ml 2002
For my dear friend Martin "Gary" Hare R.I.P, who took his own life 9/01
"If it comes, I won't fight it" Were the last words you said to me Now I hope your in a better place In which your able to see "Backdoor man" by the Doors was your favourite song now when I hear it my friend in my mind, we'll both sing along I'll never forget you mate whatever the weather Your the backdoor man Live forever ©ml
WHAT GOES ON (This is a song, I even have the music,...in my head!)
Would you understand? When I'm playing in a different band would you like to take a look when I'm sinking line & hook would you want to know When I have feelings I can't show Would you be taken aback If I told you I was about to crack
I guess it's just a part of what goes on and on, and on, and on, Just a part of what's inside You can't run from yourself (Chorus) Can you? You cannot hide
There's been times when I've reached out for a branch Only for it to snap Only to fall disfigured into someone's unsuspecting lap then to receive a look of total disgust when In them you've put all your trust Later on, maybe They might feel the same way and you know? I wouldn't give them the time of day Revenge is sweet? No just don't give in to defeat Live your life On your own two feet
(Chorus) ©ml 2002/3
SO MUCH BETTER THAN ANYONE ELSE
Your so much better than everyone else! look at your house! You share it with a mouse and a spider you call Terry Who's always rather merry But your so alone Nothing but skin & bone tinned spaghetti for tea again bed after news at ten overgrown garden can't get a hard on and as your hands shake each time you put the key into your front door you pause for a moment thinking of a life that could have offered more but you shake your head sighing it doesn't't matter there's always tomorrow for tea it's sausage in batter you truly believe inside your not alone you are your own perfect company unique you say only one of me and as you pass away all alone aged 104 Your so much better than everyone else

HEADS ON POLES
My best mate
there aint much he hasn't seen
with all his heart
he just wanted to be a marine
A someone, and he will NEVER be just anyone
to serve this country
but you fuc*ers let him down
over a cup of earl grey tea
He saved my life
you know that?
but I guess you don't really care
because you send our boys out to fight your wars
in the middle of nowhere
I'd gladly cut your heads off government,
and stick em all on poles
and do any time smiling
to see this dear pal of mine
achieve his goals
Me, I'm as fuc*ed up as they come
There isn't a nasty thing I aint thought, said, or done
But this special friend of mine has always been by my side
even when, I'm throwing a turn inside
Yes if it wasn't for this wonderful, fantastic human being, soul mate of mine
I'd surely be in hell, just waiting in line
I would have surely gone under years ago
But he's still here... I love him
But I'm not gay you know

DON'T BURY ME
Don't bury me in a graveyard
it's too fuc*ing lonely there
full of other people
for whom I'd never care
Full of people I'll never know
Then again full of people
who probably only turn up at funerals though
Don't bury me in a cemetery!
it's all too fuc*ing dictionary
Lying there all neat in a row
just because it's how they say so
when I die
please no black, and no tie
And don't be sad
remember the days
when we were totally mad
remember the days when we laughed like crazy
because in my time of dying
that'll be what stays with me baby
Don't bury me in a wooden box!
because when I'm gone
I don't give a toss who knocks
That's it as far as I'm concerned
Shows over...
last call for drinks...
the end... finnito...
But fuc* it
hell of a ride it will have been though
