AN INTRODUCTION TO MS

Although I have had experience of living with someone with Multiple Sclerosis (my mother), and have written a little about it on another page, I do not know what it was like for her in the very early stages, when first diagnosed. I was only a small baby then. When a person first hears those words "You have MS" it comes as a terrible blow and I should think it is very frightening. I picked up a small booklet in my local hospital the other day entitled "Just diagnosed, An introduction to MS. I'm sure my mum would have found something like this extremely helpful to her, but there wasn't anything around in those days for her. She just had to get on with it herself and learn to live with it.

The booklet was written by Hilary Freeman and in conjunction with the Multiple Sclerosis Society.

Here, in this section, I have copied the booklet in its entirety.
