The Best of Bowwowwow

If you buy just one Bowwowwow CD, you can't do better than this "best of" collection. It contains most of the essential Bowwowwow tracks (minus one or two), and also includes one previously unreleased track that's awfully good. Also included are 2 tracks from Annabella after she left Bowwowwow and started her (short-lived) solo career. Most songs here have been previously reviewed.

Album Grade: A-

Where's My Snake

Here's a previously unreleased song that ranks way up there in the Bowwowwow hierarchy. Both funny and sexually teasing, with plenty of energy and charm, this is a must-listen! Grade: A

The Joy of Eating Raw Flesh

A fairly benign instrumental. There's no reason for this to be on a "best of" album. Grade: C-

Cowboy

Already reviewed. (See "I Want Candy")

Golly! Golly! Go Buddy!

Prince of Darkness

Here's a tale about satan tempting Annabella. Somewhat interesting, but not really "best of" material. Grade: C+

This is the same song as "Jungle Boy." (See "See Jungle...")

Don't Dance With Strangers

Here we have a cut from Annbella's first solo album "Fever." There's nothing wrong with this cover, but it has no where near the spontaneity and energy of a typical Bowwowwow track. Her journey into mellow ballads was a mistake, and this song proves it. Grade: C

Fever

Another cut from Annbella's first solo album "Fever." Annabella's vocals just don't cut it, and clearly there's no need to hear this oldie sung by Annabella or anyone else. Grade: C
