The Existence of
Love
by Serajul Islam Molla

Love has no language.
Who says this is a liar.
Call him.
I want to see his face.
I shall ask an explanation of him.
If he fails to make me satisfied
I shall slap him.
Love makes you great,
Magnanimous and honest.
Without it, you are nobody!
Because of the existence of love
The world is still wonderful.
Without Love, Life is barren and useless
Good for nothing.
Without Love
The word 'Life'
has no meaning.

Ang
Bayan Ko
by Eppie Caredda
15.02.2007
Ang bayan Kong Philipinas
Lupain ng gintot bulaklak
Pag-ibig ng sa kanyang palad
Nag alay ng gandat dilag
At sa kanyang yumi at ganda
Dayuhan ay nahalina
Bayan ko, binihag ka
Nasadlak ka sa dusa ...
Ibon mang may layang lumipad
Kulangin mo at umiiyak
Bayan pa kayang sakdal dilag
Ang di nag-nasang makaalpas
O! Pilipinas kong minumutya
Pugad, ka ng luha at dalita
Aking aghika -- ang ...
Makita kang-sakdal laya.
[translation] My Country
by Eppie Caredda 15.02.2007
My country the Philippines
Land of Honey, Tropical Flowers and Gold
Love permeates its heart.
Which brings panoramic beauty
And amazing grace.
These niceties captivate many strangers
That may be why they had to stay so long.
Even more than a hundred years.
Oh my beloved country, the Philippines
Was held hostage and enslaved in hardships
For so long.
Like the chirping bird that craves to fly
Without limit. Cage it and it will surely cry.
What more will this beautiful land endure.
Will it not also aim for a boundless Liberty?
Philippines my beloved
Lair of struggles and tears
My only dream for you is to see you again
Completely
Free.

PEOPLE
by Bithi Das
29.01.2007
I haven't seen Jesus in heaven
But I saw him in this world
Surrounding us.
I saw him the other day
Driving the bus.
I asked him if he could take me to the station
It was before 9 a.m. He looked at me
with smiling face asked me to get in the bus.
I didn't see any gelsfrom heaven
But I saw them in this world
Surrounding us.
They are born with the virtue of angels
Always giving care and comfort to others
Saying - We will miss you and think of you.
They are here in this world
Surrounding us.
I didn't see any devils from hell
But I saw them in this world
They will try to show their power
Using unkind words for the sake of jokes
They are dark and ugly
And you will always recognise them
By
their acts.
Really, I don't know heaven or hell
But I do know they exist among us.
It is the people who make heaven and hell in this world
Surrounding
us.
A LOVE POEM
by Bithi Das
15.02.2007
Love - the word you hea from your childhood
I love you mummy you say when you are a child
I love you darling you say when you are an adult.
But what about unspoken Love?
Have you ever had in your life
It is more romantic when you feel.
I had in my life in the the past
But it didn't last.
We have been parted miles and miles
away.
REBIRTH
By Bithi Das
21.09.2006
If I die this winter
My body will die but I shall be alive
and come back to your garden.
You will see the white snow-drops,
the first blossoms in spring
after the harsh snows in the winter.
The snow will melt
but the snow drops
will be everywhere.
As the spring brings new life and hope
you will hope that the garden
will be alive again.
But you won't know I am there
and it is me who has born again.
The bird will sing and I will dance.
You will smell the fragrance of mine.
But you won't know.
I am there.
I am born again in this beautiful world.
IN CONJUNCTION WITH MY POEM 'REBIRTH'
THIS POEM IS CALLED 'REVIVE'
REVIVE
By Bithi Das
15.02.2007
No I didn't die this winter
to be born as snowdrops in this world.
Instead, I went to see the snowdrops field
in Rococo Garden in Painswick Park.
It is spring, and everywhere snowdrops
I wanted to greet them to say hello and how are you?
Two days earlier, the snow fell heavily
Snowdrops were covered with snow.
They became one with white little flowers
Peeping all over the field.
I sing to them "Snowdrops keep falling on my feet"
They dance to me saying "I love you."
No,. I didn't want to go from this world
I wanted to revive.

Memories of Childhood
by Kathy Randle
27.07.2006
I remember the smells, the yells,
And the street calls
Of the cats-meat-man
And the winkle-and-cockle woman.
These were regular noises
In our cul-de-sac
Of tenement houses
In Chalk Farm.
Three families shared our house
"Auntie" Dora and her cats on the ground.
Mum and I in one room
On the second.
And the Ciccones on the top.
We all got on OK,
But the six kids plus Mum and Dad
Were always shouting in Italian.
Summer was great in our street
Only the odd horse-and-cart came by;
And the barrel organ and the monkey.
The whole street was ours for fun and games.
Rolling old tyres up and down;
Hop-scotch, whip and top, marbles,
Flicking cigarette cards and
Snakes and ladders on the pavement,
You could move from house to house
Enjoying the games, nearly as good
As Hampstead Heath Fair!
But no money needed.
When I pass it on the bus
All that is left are the memories.
Our street bombed,
High-rise flats there now
No more street games.
Anywhere.
