It has not been easy traveling the path we have traveled this
year, but the Lady Knights have negotiated the obstacles and will return
to Percy Warner Park on Nov. 1 for their attempt to close the season with
the best finish in Kenwood's seven year history. Brittany and Alicia ran
awe inspiring races to propel us to 65 points, 6 points behind a very deserving
Lady Vikings squad. That's 2 championships and 2 runners-up since 2000. Not
a bad way to start out a millineum :)
THANK YOU FOR ALL OF THE PRAYERS, CALLS, EMAILS, FLOWERS, THOUGHTS, FOOD
and SYMPATHY RELATED TO OUR BUS ACCIDENT on 9-27-03. WE COULD NOT POSSIBLY
NAME EVERYONE WHO HAS GONE OUT OF THEIR WAY FOR US. GOD BLESS ALL OF YOU
FOR YOUR INCREDIBLE LOVE and GENEROSITY, MAY YOUR KINDNESS BE REWARDED.
Nov. 1, 2003:
Kenwood's Lady Knights record their third top 15 team finish
and fifth state trip in the school's seven year history...results up at TSSAA
if you go
HERE.
Oct. 24, 2003:
Regional
results are up for our classification (AAA). The ladies gave their absolute
best shot at the 3-peat, but come up 6 points short to NWHS. The Lady Vikes
ran awesome, and we are going to take our best shot at catching them next
week...but after the hardship the ladies have fought through...Z missing
3 weeks, Alicia fighting hip and shins...I am very proud of them and the
race they put together. The fellas found themselves in a dog pile of teams
that had less than 20 points separating 2nd through 6th. When it is that
close, you can wind up just a few points out of 2nd but still 5th. That was
basically the case for the gentlemen who miss a trip to state by exactly
12 points. Not much, and a great effort for the fellas who only lose one
of their top 7 and will be hungry next year. Congrats to both of our teams,
and best of luck to the ladies as they descend on the Steeplechase next
weekend.
Oct. 20, 2003: AMS
teams...I had to put them together myself this year for the association.
You talk about a time consuming task, whew. But, the teams are done, and
Kenwood claims three spots on the girls AAA team. Congratulations to Megan
Russell (9th), Crystal Thomas (12th), and making her first AMS team, Aundria
Bosserdet (15th). This is #3 for both Meg and Crystal. Meg will go for the
clean sweep next year of 4 in a row, something never done by anyone at Kenwood.
Cali's hard work paid off for her this year, it is very satisfying for all
of us to see her grab a spot.
Oct. 10, 2003: I
apologize for the lack of activity on the site the past month...a lot has
transpired. Wish us luck as we head down the stretch for conference, region
and hopefully state. Any questions or comments that you may have, email me
directly.
Sept. 13, 2003:
At the classic...the ladies garner the runner-up trophy behind Louisville
Assumption. And as good as they are...2nd is as good as first today. Great
job ladies! Aundria paces the ladies on this fine Saturday. Melvin leads
the parade for the guys as they finish a very close 3rd, two points behind
Rossview. Boys B team wins that division as well. Great efforts down at the
ole' Heritage Park.
Sept. 6, 2003: The
Madisonville Inv.
champs...the Kenwood Lady Knights :) Megan, Crystal and Aundria all crack
the top 10 en route to our best finish there of all time!
August 30, 2003:
Season opener at Macon County...a long way from Clarksville. The girls go
in short handed but leave with a third place trophy at the Subway Macon Co.
Invite. Congrats to Aundria Bosserdet for her medal winning performance.
