This year Blue Skies is delighted to be able to offer our new and expanded Camps programme based in the beautiful Roeburn Wood.

Family Camp I: Mon 2nd- Fri 6th July

FULLY BOOKED!
See below for further availability

Earth Skills Youth Camp: 12-21st July
In parntership with the John Muir Trust Activities Programme

This is a rare opportunity to learn survival skills handed down by Native Americans. Harvest wild edibles, learn primitive cooking and fire lighting, find medicinal plants, make water safe to drink and build an emergency shelter. At Roeburn wood, we will embark on adventures, playing games of stealth and working together with exciting challenges.

Experience making rope from natural materials, carve a spoon, burn a bowl and make your own survival knife... to mention only a few of the primitive crafts you will enjoy.

At the end of the week, you will be ready to put your new skills to the test with a challenging solo wilderness survival trek. No matter how you choose to do it, this promises to be your most incredible outdoor experience of your life.

We will live the week as caretakers of the earth. One day of the week will involve practical conservation activities to give something back to the plants and animals that have taught us so much throughout the week.

Accommodation: We will be living primitively in tents and tipis, and cooking over an open fire. Further info at Roeburn Wood.

Location: Meeting at Helensburgh, near Glasgow

Ages: 16- 24

Cost: £250

Bookings: programmes@johnmuiraward.org or tel. 0845 456 1783
