Roeburn Wood

A new permanent site has been purchased for Earth Skills courses and community involvement.

Camps and classes at Roeburn wood

Woodland living
Roeburn wood is a delightful 20 acre site aquired in 2004 to be a private mixed woodland for Blue Skies courses and community involvement. We hope that your visit to Roeburn will be inspiring and informative.

Blue Skies residential camps offer a fantastic opportunity to take part in an authentic outdoor wilderness experience with a supportive community atmosphere. Getting back to our roots of community living, working together, helping each other and sharing our experiences are important elements of our ethos.

Food
Cooking over open fires is an experience not to be missed! Wholesome organic food is provided wherever possible, and everybody is expected to help out preparing and cooking food for shared meals.

Accommodation
We will live primitively, wild camping in tents and the communal tipi with 'wild facilities'. Blue Skies may be able to provide a tent if you do not have your own.

Volunteer weekends

Come and help to caretake the newly acquired land!

Volunteer weekends to caretake the land will be scheduled for 2007. Come and help with path building, woodland management, ditch digging, pond creation.. and perhaps the building of a small low impact forest dwelling.

We are looking for volunteers with ideas, enthusiasm, knowledge, skills, tools, or just strong arms!

Where?
Roeburn Wood is situated just a 30 minute walk from the town of Helensburgh, west of Glasgow. It is best accessed by train to Helenburgh Central railway station a short journey from Glasgow.
