Help for Majordomo@quantum-pts.com:

This is the "Majordomo" mailing list manager, version 1.94.1.

In the description below items contained in []'s are optional. When providing the item, do not include the []'s around it. Items in angle brackets, such as <address>, are meta-symbols that should be replaced by appropriate text without the angle brackets.

These are the lists that are active at as of 4/1/97:

• tl  TaurList discussion group, open to all ages.
• tl-bin  TaurList Binaries and Stories list, open to all ages
• tl-r  TaurList "Restricted" discussion group - Adults Only!
• tl-r-bin TaurList "Restricted" Binaries and Stories list - Adults Only!

Majordomo understands the following commands:

• subscribe <list> [<address>]

  Subscribe yourself (or <address> if specified) to the named <list>.
  This is the main command you would use, (along with "unsubscribe", the next command.)

• unsubscribe <list> [<address>]

  Unsubscribe yourself (or <address> if specified) from the named <list>. "unsubscribe *" will remove you (or <address>) from all lists. This may not work if you have subscribed using multiple addresses.

• get <list> <filename>

  Get a file related to <list>.

• index <list>

  Return an index of files you can "get" for <list>.

• which [<address>]

  Find out which lists you (or <address> if specified) are on.

• who <list>

  Find out who is on the named <list>.

• info <list>

  Retrieve the general introductory information for the named <list>.

• intro <list>

  Retrieve the introductory message sent to new users. Non-subscribers may not be able to retrieve this.

• lists

  Show the lists served by this Majordomo server.

• help

  Retrieve the majordomo standard help message. (Somewhat simular to this page. <G>)

• end

  Stop processing commands (useful if your mailer adds a signature).

Commands should be sent in the body of an email message to "majordomo@quantum-pts.com". Multiple commands can be processed provided each occurs on a separate line.

Commands in the "Subject:" line are NOT processed. You can write anything you want as the "Subject :" of the letter to Majordomo.

If you have any questions or problems and want to talk to a Hew-man <G>, please contact "listman@quantum-pts.com", or if the server is down, try "idahobob@aol.com".

I realize that if you haven't dealt with a automated list server, you would like to see some examples of the commands being sent out. Go ahead and play around some. Worst case is that you don't know what you did and you have to contact "listman@quantum-pts.com" to have him fix it. (That shouldn't happen, but I'm there if you need me.)

To get a list of lists, find out who's on "tl" and "tl-bin", then find out what lists you're on, send this letter

Subject: Now We Have Fun! To: majordomo@quantum-pts.com list who tl who tl-bin which end After "end" Majordomo ignores all text, so you can put anything you want after it. An "end" at the end of each letter is a good idea, especially if you have a .signature added to your letters.
