Ibex Ski & Snowboard Club is a group of about 170 people, who have a wide variety of interests and enjoy outdoor activities. We come from many different communities, backgrounds and occupations.

Ibex was formed in 1962 by a group of avid skiers who wanted to get together and ski.  They  also desired to socialize and stay active when there was no snow on the ground. Over the years our activity list has grown and includes:

• Skiing, usually four Western and European trips each year

• Volleyball (Monday nights throughout the summer and into the fall)

• Biking (Thursday evening rides + several weekend social rides)

• Bar of the Month (A local interesting pub visit once a month on a Friday evening to sample unusual brews or food and have a good time)

• Golf (Several group outings including a Fall Weekend outing + ad hoc days)

• Spectator events (Cubs/Sox game, Ravinia, Theater in the Loop  and other similar events)

• Camping and Hiking (Previous destinations have included Door County and New Glarus  in Wisconsin, Brown County in Indiana and Saugatuck in Michigan)

• Boating

• Picnics (An annual event plus Denny's famous 4th of July blast)

• Chili Cook-off (An event that has been held every year since 1981)

• Awards Banquet at the end of the ski season.
