In High School I called on an ad in the newspaper about a 1956 Hearse for $2000.
He brought it over to the house and as it turns out I fell in love with the idea of owning a hearse. But alas, I could not afford it at the time.

Quite a few years later after accumulating a number of Cadillacs including a 1971 El Dorado,
a 1964 sedan DeVille, and finally a 1959 Sedan DeVille (6 window).
I got a phone call from my dad telling me about a 1959 Hearse sitting on a rather low budget car lot in downtown Fresno.

I went to look at it immediately, I think it was around 11:00 p.m
I got there and fell in love, needless to say I was there before he opened and ready to buy.
I paid $3000 which was probably too much at the time but you can't put a price on love.

One evening in Fresno the police had what they thought to be a hostage situation at
a local department store and had the roads blocked off for about a quarter-mile.

As people are they started to gather and within about 20 minutes the crowds had reached 100 - 200 people.
This is where I enter the story.

My wife and I were driving home and passed all of this that was going on and the
crowd literally jumped up and down and cheered at the site of the hearse.

I even saw the police officer directing traffic crack a smile.

Judging by the amount of times I've seen this beautiful funeral car's pic stolen from here,
and placed on other people's sites, I'd have to say that this is truly one of the "darlings" of Grim Rides.
