Welcome to the Great Central Valley NAVHDA Chapter website! We are located in the central valley of Northern California. This chapter was formed in the spring of 1999, and has experienced interest and growth since our beginnings. Our current membership totals approximately 40 members, including men and women from all walks of life, with one thing in common - the development of our versatile hunting dogs! There are avid hunters in our membership, and there are the weekend warriors who are only interested in allowing their dogs the opportunity to hone their skills at our monthly training days. We encourage anyone who is interested to visit us on one of our training days. What you will find is a group of friendly people who enjoy working with their dogs. So, plan a day and come join us!

What is
NAVHDA?
The North American Versatile Hunting Dog Association is a legally recognized nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering, improving, promoting, and protecting the versatile hunting dog in North America.
|
Underlying these aims is the desire to serve the interests of game conservation, prevention of cruelty to animals, and the gun dog hunter by helping the hunter to train his dog to work before and after the shot, on land and in water.

|
NAVHDA is an excellent compliment to the activities of sporting dog breed clubs and field trial organizations. It was created to supplement the activities of those clubs by providing a proven, standard method of evaluating the performance of all versatile hunting dogs, consistent with North American hunting practices, regardless of breed. |
